TotalEnergies and Google Sign 15-Year Renewable Energy Deal for Ohio Data Centers
TotalEnergies has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement with Google to supply 1.5 TWh of renewable electricity from its Montpelier solar farm in Ohio. The energy will power Google’s data centers in the state, reinforcing both companies' commitment to carbon-free energy solutions.
The solar facility, connected to PJM—the largest grid system in the U.S.—is nearing completion. Google’s strategy focuses on enabling clean energy for local grids, while TotalEnergies aims to tailor renewable solutions for data centers. Will Conkling, Google’s director of Clean Energy and Power, emphasized the deal’s role in bolstering grid reliability and supporting critical digital infrastructure.
